Hello, I'd like to start with my experience; I had almost no practical experience in CAM or CNC, but I'm knowledgeable in CAD (fusion 360, OnShape) and I 3D print on my ender 3.I was recently given a 10 y/o A2Z CNC mill with a flashcut 2000 retrofit kit. Forgive me if the name of the mill is not accurate, It's really hard to find info on the machine. It's a 3+2 but I've removed the extra 2 axes for now, just to make things a little easier on me. I'll likely add them back when I get more confident in my CNC abilities. My end goal for the machine would be to machine simple parts (wood, plastic, maybe aluminum) for personal use, and eventually cut ~5mm thick pieces of carbon fiber sheets for FPV drones. So far, I've calibritated the axes and am able to move the machine to points, and I setup the basic machine definition over the phone with FlashCut. I'm stuck on how to get the CAM in Fusion to spit out a G-code. I don't know how to set the machine definition, tool bit definition, or what post processor to use. I also don't know how to mount a tool to the spindle assembly. (There's probably more I'm missing).I'm using flashcut 4.5, Flashcut 8A Pro Series Micro Stepper, and a 501A Signal generator. I have a probe and some misc components that came with the mill. I know the steppers are made by flashcut, but I don't know the model. I have a spindle relay box but I don't know the model either.Any help/resources would be appreciated, if anyone has this mill and could help that would be super. via /r/CNC https://ift.tt/35zaoXp
