Help with stack damaged by battery short?

long time lurker first time poster here...so I was flying my quad yesterday that I built about a month ago (this is my first build and I'm still pretty new to this) and I was coming in for a landing essentially hovering about a foot off the ground when I clipped some weeds and the quad flips over and video feed cuts out. I walk over to pick it up and notice that the balance lead plug had been ripped off and the wires from my 4s LiPo are hanging exposed, quickly I unplugged the xt60 careful not to touch the balance wires together and short the battery. I gave it a visual inspection and checked for a burning smell and all seemed good so I plugged in another battery to keep flying but this time I only got the initial 3 beeps and not the last 2 which means that the ESC is receiving power but not throttle signal. At home, I took the stack apart (mamba f405 m2 + 4in1 40a ESC) and checked the individual fets for damage which looked fine, and started to do a continuity test before realizing it wouldn't work because I still have all my motors and battery lead+cap connected. I plugged in a full battery and hooked up the drone to betaflight configurator where I tried to spin up the motors which did not work in addition to the receiver tab showing no activity from my Taranis and also the VTX was not getting warm/receiving power. The flight controller gyro and LEDs were working and the receiver LEDs were on even though it seemed to not be receiving nor sending telemetry information to the Taranis. The final thing I did was type the "status" command into the CLI which showed that battery power was at 4.2v from a 2s battery (with a fully charged 4s LiPo plugged in). My question is what could have happened from what was presumably a battery short? my only guess is some kind of voltage spike but i have a bigger capacitor than what came with the mamba stack installed which appears to be undamaged and no signs of burning or any damage really. could this be a problem with the 4in1? FC? Should I buy a new stack or attempt a repair? any input would be appreciated as I haven't a clue how to proceed. via /r/fpv https://ift.tt/38CD0C8
