Black Mirror's episode "Shut Up and Dance" has not only a great twist but also poses a moral quandary like no other episode I've seen, which makes it absolutely worth watching

For those who don't know, Black Mirror is a British show on Netflix that centers around episodes taking place in the near future or a dark alternative present that show the darker side of humanity and what could happen with the advancements of technology. Each episode has a unique cast of characters, but they all take place in one central universe. And almost every episode leaves you either slightly depressed or a little bit happy. And the episode mentioned in the title can be summed as such: A teenager, Kenny, has his laptop webcam hacked into by forces unknown and blackmail him by threatening to release the footage they have of him pleasuring himself in his bedroom. He reluctantly goes along with it and eventually is tasked with fulfilling orders texted to him by the anonymous group which have him do stuff like receive a cake, deliver it to a man waiting for a prostitute, go to a bank and rob it and finally have a fight to the death while a drone films the event. Kenny comes out the victor. But the twist comes in right at the end with everyone who thought their secret would remain hidden from their loved ones being revealed anyway, with the anonymous group sending a troll face as a final send-off.But where Kenny comes in is when he's walking down the road and he gets a call from his mother. Turns out it wasn't just regular NSFW material he was looking at. It was pictures... of children. Yep, Kenny was caught looking at probably some form of CP and may be in possession of it on his laptop. The episode ends with the police finally catching him and preparing to take him into their car. This episode really does keep you on the edge of your seat. Words can't describe the feeling well enough. But now we have the aforementioned quandary on our hands, Kenny's criminal punishment.Should he face the full weight of his actions and be sentenced as an adult for all the crimes he committed throughout the episode? Should he have to at least go to juvenile prison and be given a chance to walk free as an adult? Or should he be able to walk away free immediately if he can prove he was being blackmailed? These questions I leave to you. via /r/television https://ift.tt/3oqS0sl
